The Feeling Map translates the dimensional scores of abstract paintings into emotional quotients — precise descriptions of what a painting does to a person standing in front of it, before the mind has time to interpret. It maps the felt body response, what lingers after walking away, and the primary emotion each painting finds in you.

How are emotional quotients generated?

Each painting's dimensional scores — Abstract Quotient, Texture, Form, Colour Range, and Palette Temperature — are read through the Taxonomy of Abstraction and translated into felt emotional language using the full range of human feeling: reverence, grief, awe, longing, tenderness, peace, aliveness, dignity, unease, restlessness, exhilaration, love, solitude, defiance, melancholy, and more.

How is the Feeling Map different from the Taxonomy Analysis page?

The Taxonomy Analysis page scores what a painting is dimensionally — its structural properties. The Feeling Map maps what those dimensions produce in a human being — the felt encounter, the body response, the emotional residue. One describes the painting. The other describes what happens to you.
