Politics is a large-scale diptych that speaks to the dissonance of our present moment. Created in the aftermath of the 2024 U.S. election, the piece captures the emotional turbulence of a world caught between repetition and rupture, form and unraveling.

The left panel is composed of concentric circles—precise, meditative, and restrained. These shapes suggest systems, cycles of speech, the echo of political discourse that loops but rarely resolves. They offer a sense of control, even calm—but underneath, a quiet tension builds.

In contrast, the right panel bursts into motion. Sweeping lines disrupt the symmetry, cutting across space with urgency and emotion. There’s a release here—a break from the orderly and a movement into something raw and unpredictable. The contrast between the two sides creates a powerful visual tension: one panel trying to contain, the other refusing to be held.

Rendered in black and white, the work strips away distraction to focus on energy, rhythm, and feeling. Layered textures emerge through mixed media techniques, adding depth and weight to the surface. The materials themselves become part of the message—repetitive, worn, fractured.

Politics doesn’t offer a stance or a solution. It offers an experience. A moment to feel the push and pull of modern discourse. The fatigue of repetition. The spark of change. The tension between holding on and letting go.

It is a reflection of the times—not literal, but visceral.
