Ganesh in the Abstract (2024) is a spiritual decoding — a reimagining of iconography through geometry, line, and reverence. This 48 x 48 inch acrylic painting from the Geometric Splendor collection invokes the Hindu deity Ganesh not through figure, but through suggestion: arcs, curves, and rhythm that echo the elephant god’s form, spirit, and symbolism.

The composition pulses with balance. A central rounded shape — neither trunk nor torso, yet both — is flanked by mandala-like fragments and subtle gold detailing. The palette leans earthy and luminous: ochres, cinnabar, muted blues, and pale white, layered in precise yet expressive gestures.

This painting was born from memory — of temples, rituals, incense, and the early presence of sacred symbols in my childhood. I didn’t want to depict Ganesh. I wanted to feel him on the canvas. The result is part invocation, part architecture, part dance.

The geometric elements recall Hilma af Klint’s spiritual diagrams and Paul Klee’s playful reverence. Like them, I seek the divine through form, not representation.

Ganesh in the Abstract is not a portrait. It is a trace — of wisdom, of protection, of creative joy.
