Exploring Abstraction

A Canvas of Emotions: My Journey with Acrylic Abstract Art

"Color is a power which directly influences the soul." — Wassily Kandinsky

Contemporary abstract art has become the cornerstone of my creative practice, and acrylic paint is the medium through which that expression comes alive. When I approach a blank canvas, I do so with a quiet anticipation—the beginning of a conversation between vision, feeling, and material.

Acrylics offer a balance of freedom and urgency. Their versatility allows me to build large, vibrant compositions that pulse with energy and emotional depth. My process is intuitive—I may begin with a loose idea, but the painting quickly takes on a life of its own. Form, texture, and color evolve in real time, guiding me as much as I guide them.

While the fast drying time can be demanding, it also forces me into presence. It sharpens my focus, accelerates decisions, and encourages experimentation. I find joy in layering color, sculpting texture, and discovering the unexpected. What begins as exploration often leads to moments of clarity—revelations shaped by movement, mood, and momentum.

Each finished piece carries more than just pigment and form—it holds a moment of transformation. It’s a visual map of an emotional state, a reflection of vulnerability, curiosity, and presence. Acrylic abstract art, for me, is not only a method of making—it's a way of feeling, processing, and sharing what lives beneath the surface.
